Over the past two years, Art Farm Iowa and other Worth County organizations have collaborated with Iowa State University and its College of Design as part of a "Rural Art. Rural Space." studio class led by Professor Hans Klein-Hewett. The first class was completed in the fall semester of 2024 with 15 students participating. In the class the students discussed the meaning of "art" and "rural", made visits interacting with the community, and developed comprehensive future plans for Art Farm Iowa. The culmination of the class was to agree, develop, and install a representative work of art at Art Farm Iowa.
The sculpture they created is called "Pheresvios" (life giving), and it pays homage to pollinators and their vital role in agriculture and preserving biodiversity. "Pheresvios" will be unveiled at this event.
