EXHIBIT - "Living in Diaspora: Being Karenni in the World" art by Maw Reh

  • Art Farm Iowa 4953 Olive Avenue Northwood, IA, 50459 United States (map)

Art Farm Iowa welcomes Karenni artist Maw Reh for an exhibit titled “Living in Diaspora: Being Karenni in the World”.

ABOUT MAW

Maw Reh is a first-generation, Karenni-American artist from Phoenix, Arizona. Maw was born in a refugee camp in Thailand, on the border with Burma. Maw's parents fled Burma to America when he was 11.

Maw has an Associate's Degree from Phoenix College and further study at Arizona State University. Maw's pride in, and love for the history of his people are part of his work.

"I want my work to be a source of pride for Karenni everywhere -- for all those in diaspora, who struggle, where ever they are, to keep the connection with their roots. I'll be thrilled for Karenni to see the work in person, or through various social media where I post."
